We Sell Books

We have been selling books in Ottawa since 1969. For residents and visitors to Canada's Capital we stock more than 30,000 titles at our conveniently-located Glebe Store. If you can't visit our shop in person we offer thousands of rare, scarce and interesting books through our Catalogues which we publish six times a year. You can receive our Catalogues by postal mail or download digital versions. Wherever you live in the country or the world you can buy our books securely over the Internet. We feature almost 10,000 titles in our online database through ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers).

We Buy Books

We buy individual items and collections of all sizes. We buy rare and used books in most subjects. We’re keen to buy books on subjects we specialize in such as Arctic, Canadiana, The Americas, Voyage and Travel, Military History, Irish History and Literature, Atlases and Early Literature.

We don’t buy books that are damaged or wanting pages, encyclopedias, reader’s digest, psychology, sociology, self help books, textbooks, or romance novels. Your enquires are welcome..... books@mcgahernbooks.ca.
