We've Moved

At the end of January 2011 we closed our Glebe Store after four decades on Bank Street. In early May we opened our new location at 368 Dalhousie, Suite 301 in Ottawa's famous Byward Market.

We Sell Books

We have been selling books in Ottawa since 1969, and continue to offer thousands of rare, scarce and interesting titles at our new location. You can also buy our books through our Catalogues which we publish six times a year. You can receive our Catalogues by postal mail or download digital versions. Wherever you live in the country or the world you can buy our books securely over the Internet. We feature almost 10,000 titles in our online database through ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers).

We Buy Books

We buy individual items and collections of all sizes. We buy rare books in most subjects. We’re keen to buy books on subjects we specialize in such as Arctic, Canadiana, The Americas, Voyage and Travel, Military History, Irish History and Literature, Atlases and Early Literature.

We don’t buy books that are damaged or wanting pages, encyclopedias, reader’s digest, psychology, sociology, self help books, textbooks, or romance novels. Your enquires are welcome..... books@mcgahernbooks.ca.
