Hardcover. 8vo, 21cm, 2 volumes in One, 304 & 264,[ii]pp., printed in double-columns, in contemporary hard polished full dark green calf, gilt ruled raised bands, crushed crimson morocco label, gilt titles, ornate gilt full panel decorations, gilt and blind ruled borders on the boards with blind floral decoration in the corners, gilt and blind decorations on the board edges, matched marbled endpapers & edges, former owner ink stamp on the half title, some early and late slight foxing, near fine, an attractively bound copy (s9.1) Abbe MacGeoghegan was the chaplain with the Irish Brigade and wrote this book, in French, in the 1740's. He died in 1750 and is buried in Paris. John Mitchell up-dated the history to 1850. Includes The Articles of Union (1800) and lists of Members of Parliament who voted against (Red List) and those who voted for (Black List). Both authors elaborate on "the dark record of English atrocity in Ireland". - Both volumes contain a frontis ad and a notice for Drcy McGee's History of Ireland. Item #29347
