The first American appearance of Longfellow's narrative poem of the early days of the Plymouth colony of Massachusetts. With a collection of his poems, under the title, "Birds of Passage", that includes "My Lost Youth". The first issue (of 4 for 1858) with "treacherous" for "ruddy" in the 3rd line, page 124 (changed by Longfellow's direction on further issues). Item #34718
