Boston; New England: Re printed and sold by Fowle.". printed wraps, fine as new (hm10bx). ~ The original edition was the first separately published account of the military fame and character of the illustrious British general. The author was a prominent British physician and founder of modern military medicine, best known for his Observations On The Diseases of the Army" (London. 1752). Wolfe and Pringle both served in Flanders (1742 45) and may well have met when Wolfe was recovering from fatigue following the Battle of Dettingen. Recalled in 1745 to serve against the Jacobites, both were on the staff of the Duke of Cumberland at Culloden. Item #35391
