Soft cover. 16mo. 17cm, in 2 volumes, limited to 275 copies & 75 large paper copies, 43 & 64pp., rubricated half title & title pages, head & tail decoration, appendices, printed limp vellum over card plain wraps with title reprinted on the upper cover, volume 2 unopened, wrappers dust worn, volume two spine cap chipped, internally fine (gar). ~ A reprint of John Dennys' "The Secrets of Angling" first published in 1613. One of the earliest treatise on fishing, the book went through four editions to 1652. Dennys writes of fishing on the River Boyd, a tributary of the River Avon, by his home of Pucklechurch, Gloucester. This 1885 edition was edited by Edmund Goldsmid ("Piscator") with his added preface and bibliography. Item #35953
