Hardcover. folio. 31cm, 280 pp., extensively illustrated, (including many chromolithographs & colour printed cards, advertisement, ephemera) in half dark green calf, blue pebbled cloth boards, gilt spine titles, marbled endpapers, compiler's signature and heraldic bookplate, in fine condition, signed. (cgc) Local historian and genealogist, Howard W. Warner (b.1908) published several books on South Augusta including "South Augusta and its Environs" (1964), "The History of St. Georges' Church; South Augusta" (1938), "And Jacob Called the Name of the Place Bethel" (1949). A prominent member of the United Empire Loyalist Association, Warner was noted as an avid researcher and this book was part of a series that he organized with his ephemera.
