Hardcover. 12mo, 16.5cm, 9th edition, xxiv,371p., engraved frontis, in contemporary full brown morocco, blind ruled raised bands, full blind decorations in the panels, blind decorated borders in panels on the boards, all edges gilt, small bump on the top edges of the upper cover else near fine, attractively bound (Ho2.1). ~ Irish poet and curate, Reverend Charles Wolfe (1791-1823) is best remembered for his ode. "On the Burial of Sir John Moore", first published in the Newry Telegraph in 1817. The poem was raised from obscurity by Byron and is included in this book on pages 25/26. The frontis is of Sir John Moore's monument in St. Paul's Cathedral with one stanza from Wolfe's poem. Reverend Wolfe was the curate in Ballyclog, County Tyrone and later at Donoughmore, County Down. He passed away at Cobh, County Cork in 1823 and was buried there. "Wolfe's Remains" is a tribute by the Archdeacon of Clogher with biography, poems, correspondence and sermons. Item #38051
