John MacLean (1851 - 1945), a Methodist missionary, was stationed at the Blood Indian reserve near Fort Macleod, Alberta, from 1880-89, and afterwards served in various western charges until his retirement in 1911. This is a substantial work and is largely concerned with western tribes, however eastern Canada in not neglected.
