Soft cover. 32mo, 11cm, (4.3/8"), first edition thus, 16 unnumbered pages including title page, black card wraps with laid down yapped edges, two colour illustrations on the upper cover, vignette illus on the title page, small black illustrations on the text pages of the cat and some including the mouse, fine condition, rare. 9th Century poem in Old Irish and English. In black stiff wrappers with cat decoration pasted to the front, 32mo, not paginated (16pp). "This little book was prepared especially for the Great Irish Fair in Brooklyn, June 6-7, 1982. It was translated, designed, calligraphed, illustrated & lino-cut, and bound by Malachi McCormick, founder of the Stone Street Press. Apparently one of a set of 6 booklets originally in a slipcase. By a 9th century monk, at his daily task, in the Abbey's Scriptorium, (literally, a place or writing) coping manuscripts, addressed to his cat, Pangur Bawn. Item #40229
