Item #40553 To The Electors of the Division Of Inkerman. Gentlemen - At the request of numerous friends in every section of the extensive and import Division of Inkerman, I have decided upon offering myself at the approaching election as a candidate for the representation in the Legislative Council ~ In determining to solicit your suffrages, I trust I have been moved less by a desire of personal aggrandizement, than by the conviction that the interest of the Ottawa Country, and the representation of Ottawa Constituencies, have been too often placed in the hands of persons who have sought such a trust chiefly for furtherance or support of their own political position or who possess no stake in this important section of Canada adequate to impel them to regard its interests as their own .
