Asher & a large folding facsimile map of New-Netherland by N.J. Visscher. The Dutch West India Company established the New Netherland colony in 1624 consisting of what is now New York City, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey. The main town of the colony was New Amsterdam (I626-1664) what is now Manhattan.
